I took this at work as treats for my nameday. They were a hit! I got this great recipe from startcooking.com.
Ingredients
135 g flour
0.5 teaspoon of salt
115 g unsalted butter
170 g chocolate chips
1 teaspoon baking powder (~ 5 g)
6 tablespoons brown sugar (~ 84 g)
6 tablespoons white sugar (~ 90 g)
1 teaspoon vanilla (~ 5 g)
1 large egg
Directions
The butter should be at room temperature when used, but it might be easier cut into smaller chunks when it's still cold. So first, cut the butter in chunks and leave aside in a large bowl.
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Beat the egg with the vanilla.
When the butter is ready to use, add the sugar and beat with a mixer to get a uniform mixture. Remember to use dough hooks with the mixer. Add the egg and vanilla and continue to beat with the mixer until well mixed. Gradually add in the flour mixture as you keep mixing.
Stir in the chocolate chips. Now the dough must chill in the fridge for at least an hour, but preferably overnight. Put it in plastic wrap and give a nice rectangular shape to make it easy later.
When it's cold, divide it into 12 pieces and shape them into balls. Put them on a greased cookie sheet (or use baking paper). Leave enough space between them as they will melt and expand into discs. Put them in the middle of the oven, heated at around 435 K (160 deg. C), for 17 to 19 minutes. Take them out and leave them to cool down before stuffing your face.
